Turkey packaging deadline approaching

The Turkish Packaging Waste Control Regulation came into force on 1 January 2018. The Regulation covers all types of packaging and packaging materials placed on the market.
Under this Regulation producers which place over 1 tonnes of packaging on the market each year must meet recycling requirements. Under Article 20 of the Regulations, producers who meet their recycling obligation through an accredited organisation (compliance scheme) must notify the packing information system of this contract by the end of June. Note, under this Regulation, a producer can meet recycling obligations through contraction with multiple accredited organisations.
