Global Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Regulations – what’s new in 2020?

An increasing number of EPR regulations are being introduced across the world with several countries having already implemented EPR regulations in 2020. Waste import bans in countries such as in China and more recently Thailand, may be a driving force for countries to place responsibility for end of life product management onto producers. Many other countries are extending the product scope of their existing EPR regulations, resulting in many more producers being obligated under these laws.
